Your Impact at Ribomaps
The ability to gain much deeper levels of insight into biological processes is hugely valuable as it
enhances, accelerates and de-risks drug discovery and development. At Ribomaps, this is what we
do. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team that works on a variety of research projects for our
global client base in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries. The ideal candidate will enjoy
working in a collaborative, fast-paced start-up environment, leveraging a high degree of integrity,
intelligence and innovation to make a large impact on our mission.

 

Roles & Responsibilities
This role will involve a mix of wet-lab and desk-based work at our facility in Cork, Ireland.
When in the laboratory you will be working closely with senior scientists on customer projects,
running Standard Operating Procedures for laboratory protocols. You will be expected to maintain
a keen eye for detail and work efficiently and diligently with your team-mates. You will be required
to keep detailed records in laboratory notebooks and communicate the results with your colleagues
and with clients. For the right candidate there may also be opportunities to be directly involved
in Ribomaps’ own internal research projects which form key components of the company’s proprietary
research roadmap. Your desk-based responsibilities will require you to liaise with laboratory suppliers
and perform routine administration work. There will also be opportunities to manage/contribute
to the company’s web/social media content.

 

The ideal candidates will:

  • Have a Life Sciences degree – ideally with Molecular Biology wet-lab experience.
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Be proactive and efficient while fostering an enjoyable and collaborative work environment.
  • Be social-media savvy.
  • Exhibit passion and excitement over their work.
  • Have a can-do attitude without losing objectivity.
  • Be able to adjust quickly to changing priorities and conditions and copes effectively with
    complexity and change.

Roles & Responsibilities
Ribomaps is looking to recruit bioinformaticians and wet-lab based molecular biologists.
These roles will be focused on the execution of customer projects which typically focus on ribosome
profiling and related topics. The roles will be filled by candidates who revel in an innovative and
research-driven environment. They will have a demonstrated eye for detail and can work efficiently
and diligently with other members of a multi-disciplinary team. They will have excellent problem-
solving and written and verbal communication skills. They will bring exemplary personal and
scientific integrity to bear in the performance of their duties. The successful candidates will also be
expected to take ownership of and drive internal research projects which form key components of
Ribomaps’ proprietary research roadmap.

 

The ideal candidates will:

  • Have a PhD in Biochemistry (or related discipline) or Bioinformatics
  • Have a strong understanding of molecular biology.
  • Have experience in NGS library generation and/or analysis.
  • Research experience in the field of RNA biology.
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Be proactive and efficient while fostering an enjoyable and collaborative work environment.
  • Be social-media savvy.
  • Exhibit passion and excitement over their work.
  • Have a can-do attitude without losing objectivity.
  • Be able to adjust quickly to changing priorities and conditions and copes effectively with
